Our next LUNCH meeting is Monday March 13th at Highland Country Club (1922 Highland Heights, London, ON). Price of this meeting is $30 per person and it will be a self-serve light buffet. The meeting room will be open from 11:30 AM for fellowship and the buffet will also be available then. So.... please plan an on arriving no later than 11:45 AM so that you have time to serve yourself and find a table to sit at. Our business meeting will start at NOON but no later than 12:15 PM. We will endeavour to end the meeting by 1:00 PM. As usual we need you to register for this meeting. The Registration Link will close at 2:00 PM Friday March 10th so that we can advise Highland CC regarding numbers. Please register as soon as possible but be sure to register before 2 PM Friday. After you have registered please arrange to e-transfer your payment to The Rotary Club of London at sronson55@gmail.com. Please be sure to put who you are paying for in your memo section on the e-transfer so that Sandy Ronson can track payments. While we continue to encourage a return to In Personmeetings for our Club Members and Guests we will have a hybrid option that will allow you to ZOOM in to the meeting if for some reason you cannot attend in person. The Zoom link will be “observe only“ for the meeting.
On Monday, March 13th our speakers will be Jill Craven and Scott Fortnum. Jill Craven is CEO at Thames Valley Children’s Centre. TVCC works to support children and their families to achieve the highest possible quality of life, assisting clients to be their best! TVCC serves more than 10,000 children, youth and their families every year through a wide range of services. Through a family-centered approach focusing on the development of physical, social, emotional, communication, behavioral and life skills. Joining Jill, is Scott Fortnum became President & CEO of Children’s Health Foundation in London, Ontario in early 2017. Scott has worked as a professional fundraiser since 1990. As staff and consultant, he has worked with major organizations across Canada, including universities, hospitals, and national non-profits. A frequent speaker throughout North America on leadership, ethics, and fundraising. He held the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation for many years then in 2011 became the 92nd person to earn the ACFRE designation. In 2023 Scott earned the Certified Healthcare Executive (CHE) designation.

We are looking for a sellout crowd so get your friends and neighbors involved . Don’t worry about making up a table we will help you when the time comes. Just tell us how many to your table and we will make it up for you . Keith has done a great job in putting the application for tickets in the COG just go on and click . --NEW RCL Meeting Schedule STARTS in January 2023--
In 2023 the meetings will start at 11:30 AM with food available for self serve some beginning fellowship. The Rotary business meeting will start at 12:00 noon. The cost of our lunch meetings will be $30.00 and we will continue to meet at Highland Golf Club.

--Message from Jim Belton / JACK BURGHARDT COMMUNITY SERVICE ABOVE SELF AWARD--
This prestigious award may be awarded annually in the spring of the year. The purpose of The Jack Burghardt Community “Service Above Self” Awardis to recognize a member of the Rotary Club of London who is primarily involved as an active community volunteer in “non-Rotarian” activities, and secondarily as an active member within the Rotary Club of London. In 1974 Jack Burghardt joined our Club and became one of our Sergeants-At-Arms, an extremely successful one ! Jack helped out with a variety of committees including the Easter Seals campaigns. Jack was also a M.P. and served 3 terms as London’s the Deputy Mayor. Following Jack’s death in 2002 the name of this award was changed to The Jack Burghardt Community “Service Above Self” Award. All current active and satellite-active members of the Rotary Club of London, including Board members, are eligible to receive this award with the exception of the following members who are previous recipients: Jim Swan, Bruce McGauley, Jan Delaney, John Eberhard, Jim Belton, Bob Earley, Ron Posno, Harry Joosten, Lori Da Silva and Jerry Pribil. Members of the Club are requested to complete the Nomination Form and forward it to our Club Secretary, Jim Belton, at jimbelton@rogers.combyMonday, 13 March. The Nomination Form can also be found the home page of our website under “Home Page Download Files”. The final decision rests with the Board.
