Our guest speaker on Aug 23rd will be Johnny Martineau--John has lived in the London area off and on since 1967, with stints in Toronto, Calgary, Barrie and Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and worked as a volunteer teacher in Guyana, SA. John graduated with honours in Mechanical Engineering from Forsythe Tech in Winston-Salem, NC. He has managed in a variety of sectors, including engineering, manufacturing, hospitality, childcare and retail. His hobbies include: nature photography, exampled by his talk today, he draws, paints, carves wood and creates videos. He currently works as a job coach/developer with Goodwill Industries in London.

--BINGO FUNDRAISER HAS RETURNED--
Subject to the current indoor gathering guideline continuing, the Club staffed an event on August 8th and has a future date September 7th. Bingo committee member last worked a Bingo event January 12, 2020. Bingo has been a longtime consistent generator of fundraising for the Club. Note: 4 more dates just received running from Nov through to March 2022.

Do you know a student in high school and looking for an adventure that will change their life? ️ Are they interested in living abroad—in a totally different country—for a year? Learning a new language? Living with a family from that country? Learning about the food, music, customs, and culture of another country? If so, then the Rotary Youth Exchange Program may be the program for them! We will be holding an information session Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 7:00PM.
The successful candidate will receive a Global Grant Scholarship, valued at $30,000 USD to fund one-year of graduate-level studies at a university outside of Canada or the United States in 2022-23.
The Kitchen Party Committee advises Friday October 8th as a probable date, please mark your calendars. This is a very important fundraiser for the Club.
