--LONDON SOUTH ROTARY PROJECT--
Rotarians Patti Lake, Kathleen Murphy and Barbra Fraser from London South along with a small group of volunteers have been working for one year to launch the Community Fridge London. The fridge aims to provide fresh food and staples for free, to combat food insecurity. The fridge philosophy is “take what you need, leave/give what you can,” where items can be accessed at any time of day, no questions asked. The fridge is located at St. John the Divine Parish in the Berkshire area of London. Volunteers will clean and check on the fridge daily. We will rely on the community to keep the fridge clean and stocked. I am writing to share the news about this exciting initiative and to ask if you would be interested in contributing your time and talents to one or more (or all!) of the following:
· donating to the fridge/pantry
· checking/cleaning the fridge/pantry
· assisting with public relations/community outreach
· picking up & dropping off items from the food bank as needed
If you are interested in volunteering, please complete this form: https://www.communityfridgelondon.com/volunteer You can also contribute a monetary donation (100% of funds will go to purchasing food for the fridge/fridge-related repairs): https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/rotary-club-of-london-south-foundation/The official launch of the Community Fridge London occurred on Wednesday Sept 14th at St John the Divine Parish - 390 Baseline Rd. W. (north entrance). Please share news of this exciting and much needed project with others who you think may be interested in volunteering and/or using the Community Fridge. Thank you, Patti Lake
