Our guest speaker on Aug 9th will be Mojdeh Cox, Executive Director, Pillar NonProfit Network. Mojdeh believes in the power of collective compassion, creativity and action to work towards solutions to complex social issues. Her dynamic 10+ years of experience working in co-visioning, co-designing and executing political and issue-based advocacy campaigns, and her social policy work equipped her with the analysis and practices needed in community-based leadership roles designed to bring people together. She has been instrumental in raising the profiles of municipal, provincial and federal political and advocacy campaigns and building community along the way. At a time when government, businesses and nonprofit organizations look to contribute to the dismantling of systemic barriers, Mojdeh brings forward expertise in labour relations, human rights, and equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. For over a decade, she has coached organizational and community leaders, businesses and not-for-profit organizations on re-imagining their work through a heightened equity lens rooted in social justice.

Weekly Coffee Klatch
Since the Province has extended its Stay-at-Home directive, we decided to set up a weekly Zoom “Coffee Klatch” each Thursday from 10:30 to 11:15 am.
If we haven’t met in person (or via Zoom) yet, here are three things you should know about me:
I have a four-year-old daughter, Emerson.
I am married to Dan.
I have the wildest career path (feel free to ask about it!), but everything I’ve done has been centered around creating change.
...and #3 is really great because our theme this year is “Serve to Change Lives”!
As we start this new Rotary year, take a look at your clubs, your communities, and the world. Consider how we can remove barriers to allow current and future Rotarians the opportunity to serve to change lives.
There are a lot of exciting things planned for this year! I look forward to connecting with each of you and learning about all of the amazing contributions our Rotarians make. I am extremely honored to serve as your District Governor for 2021-2022. I sincerely appreciate all of your support and enthusiasm as we look forward to a great year!
