Cathy Schmidt has been the Coordinator of Volunteer Services with Canadian Blood Since February 1999. In 2000 she completed the Volunteer Management Certificate Program at St. Clair College in Windsor. In this role she is responsible for recruiting, training, and scheduling of volunteers in Southern Ontario. Her territory consists of Windsor, London and St. Catharine’s centers and actively supports volunteers in 65 mobile clinics from Windsor to Port Elgin and Essex County to the Niagara Region. Canadian Blood Services became Canada’s Lifeline in 1998 and over the years Cathy has seen many changes to the blood system in Canada and with the Volunteer Program. Volunteers play an integral role to our donors by providing great customer service and assist with the recruitment of new donors to maintain Canada’s blood supply. Cathy is very passionate about the ongoing relationships she maintains with her volunteers and who continue to volunteer for her after 5 years of service. Cathy is in her 22nd year with Canadian Blood Services and is proud to be a dedicated blood donor along with 15 family members who regularly donate blood in Ontario.
Jamie Reichmann, B.A Law & Psychology is a 2010 graduate of the Faculty of Law at Carleton University. Jamie was born in St. Thomas, Ontario, grew up in British Columbia and currently resides in London. She has been with Canadian Blood Services for two years, holding various roles as a Donor Services Representative, Plasma Recruiter, Event Coordinator and Territory Manager. Jamie is responsible for the planning and execution of blood donation events in London and Oxford County and aims to strengthen relationships with local businesses and organizations through the development and implementation of local and national partnerships and campaigns. She has volunteered with hospice facilities, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, London Police Service, I.E.R.D and International Student Program.
