Emma Duerden, PhD is a Canada Research Chair in Neuroscience and Learning Disorders. She is an Associate Professor in Applied Psychology in the Faculty of Education and a member of the Centre for Brain & Mind at Western University, Canada.
Her research is focused on child and adolescent brain development and mental health. Her research on media and brain development examines how screen time impacts children’s learning and memory abilities as well as the association with anxiety and depression. She has made over 90 media appearances on live national radio and TV, as well as print media.
In recognition of her contributions to child health research, she has received local, provincial and national awards and was recently appointed as a college member of the Royal Society of Canada.
