Aug, 25, 2025 the Rotary Club of London was honoured to welcome Dr. Emma Duerden, Canada Research Chair in Neuroscience and Learning Disorders,
Associate Professor in Applied Psychology, Faculty of Education-Western University
Dr. Duerden is member of the Centre for Brain & Mind at Western University. Dr. Duerden shared powerful insights into how social media impacts the teen brain—from risk-taking behaviors to attention, memory, sleep, and mental health. Her research highlights both the vulnerabilities and resilience of young people in today’s digital world, and the important role parents, schools, and communities can play in supporting healthy development. The Rotary Club of London is proud to feature such timely and relevant speakers at our meetings, helping members stay connected to important issues shaping our community and beyond.
