Spring 2025-Rotary Club of London-World Community Services committee and Rotary of Cotonou Airport-Benin-Africa in partnership built a new canteen/kitchen for the Ouokoume Public School.
The primary school of Ouokome has a total of 215 students in 6 classes from primary 1 to primary 6. The school canteen programme, which was initiated by the Government, aims to support children from disadvantaged backgrounds. The State provides the necessary food for the school. The existing kitchen was substandard and did not support the operation of the canteen. The completed structure was handed over to school administration of June 24, 2025. This facility aims to significantly improve the quality of school life for students. No more meals cooked on the floor or in precarious conditions. Thanks to this kitchen, hot, balanced meals become a daily reality, promoting attendance, concentration, and academic performance.
