Talbot McInnis Shares the Future of Airborne Search & Rescue
At our recent Monday meeting, the Rotary Club of London was proud to welcome Talbot McInnis, a Western University graduate, award-winning engineer, and now a key volunteer with the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA) in the London zone.
Talbot shared his insights on how drone technology is revolutionizing search and rescue missions across Canada. As Deputy Training Officer, Board Member, and Chief RPAS Pilot for CASARA London, Talbot plays an essential role in collaborating with the RCAF, Coast Guard, and local police to enhance emergency response using unmanned aerial systems.
His presentation was both informative and inspiring, highlighting how volunteerism and innovation intersect to save lives and support aviation safety across the country.
To honour Talbot’s contribution, Rotary Club President Kirk Patterson presented him with a Certificate of Appreciation along with a donation made in his name to Rotary’s Polio Plus campaign—an amount sufficient to immunize 50 children against polio.
We thank Talbot for his time, dedication, and the incredible work being done through CASARA.
