At the June 23, 2025 meeting of the Rotary Club of London, Howard Shears was presented with the Jack Burghardt Service Above Self Award by Past President (2006-07, 2022-23) Rick Coates.
Howard’s wife Mickey and his daughter Michele attended as guests of the club to help celebrate this distinct honour. The award recognizes a Rotary Club of London member who is active in the community beyond responsibilities and contributions to Rotary. Howard Shears is a committed Past Board Member of the Victoria Order of Nurses London and participates in their annual fund raising Bike Ride. He is a past President of the London West PC Association and was the Campaign Chairperson in the recent Provincial election in March 2025. He has served Rotary as a board member , and was club president 2019-2020, A Rotary Club of London Foundation Board Member 2021- 2025, District 6330 Area 4 Assistant Governor 2022-2024 and a continuing member of the Club’s Local Community Service Committee since 2022.
