In a celebration of community, partnership, and vision. Unique in North America, the Garden was first established in 2003 through the leadership of the Rotary Club of London and the generous support of Rotarians. In the photo, left to right, are Rotary Club President Lian Bardaweel, Library Board Chair Brian Gibson, CEO Michael Ciccone, former CEO Darrel Skidmore—who guided the original project—Ward 6 Councillor Sam Trosow, MPP Terence Kernaghan, Ward 13 Councillor David Ferreira, and former Mayor and Honorary Rotarian, Hon. Ed Holder.
This rededication not only honours Rotary’s original role in creating this special space but also celebrates Rotary’s new $25,000 contribution to establish a children’s musical playground within the Garden. The Reading Garden continues to grow as a place of learning, joy, and community—an enduring symbol of Rotary’s commitment to service above self.
